Giant Pool Floats 12
If you are an absolute sucker for beach vacations, you should definitely ditch the beach closest to you and embark on a whole new adventure by dropping by a Pacific Island or two. They have everything that beaches offer, and so much more. From quintessential lagoons to pristine, white sand and marvelous views and waters, they take beach vacations to another level. Not to mention that many tourists may not have heard of these islands before so it’s safe to say that you might just feel like you have the whole island to yourself if you head down during the best seasons of the year. There’s nothing like a break away from the city and escaping to a seaside paradise with nothing but comfortable beachwear and a cocktail in hand. Simply imagine yourself lounging on a deck chair, sipping on a pina colada and getting a gorgeous tan; it doesn’t get any better than that! If you are ready to hit the waves or unwind on a beautiful beach, read on to find out more about our top three picks!

1. Vanuatu

Vanuatu is the place to be if you are looking for some much-needed peace and tranquility. It is a hidden gem among the rest of the Pacific Islands; void of throngs of tourists and massive hotels and resorts. Even though there isn’t the option of staying in a grand hotel, fret not for there is a myriad of boutique hotels that are quaint and fit the bill of a true island vacation. What’s more, this island is littered with volcanoes everywhere you go. They are virtually unavoidable; there is the popular active volcano, Yasur and an array of underwater volcanoes if you fancy scuba diving. Expect to immerse yourself in the island’s beauty both on land and underwater. There is something for everyone and you’ll never be bored. Besides the variety of volcanoes just waiting for you to head down and explore, there are also numerous shipwrecks dotted around the South Pacific; just a stone’s throw away from Vanuatu. The waters are a gorgeous blue color and incredibly clear. Even lounging by the sea is a treat in itself! Either that or venture into the deep waters and find out what lies under the sea of this marvelous island. If you are up for some drinks, Vanuatu is famous for its kava; it is said to be the strongest in the Pacific. Don’t underestimate this narcotic drink as it is made from the ground root of the malok plant. This makes it extremely strong so if you’re up for the challenge or simply looking for a good time, be sure to get a cup or two!

2. Cook Islands

Nothing beats having a total of 15 islands to wander around and keep you busy during your beach vacation. If you are planning to holiday for more than a few days, this is the place for you! It is very well protected as there are laws in place to ensure that buildings are not higher than the tallest coconut palm tree. Besides an endless array of palm trees that line the islands and give you that transient, island vibe, there are also various lagoons and beaches for you to pick and choose from. We’d recommend spending a week or two here if you want to truly get to know the Cook Islands from the inside out. If you only have a few days to spare, we suggest going down to Rarotonga. It is the biggest island out of the 15 and is known for its 32-kilometer long road that is perfect for scootering around the island on. You’ll never get lost on this island as the road connects all the lagoons and beaches. Each lagoon and beach has its own unique charm; you’ll have a thrill finding out their secrets! If a relaxing holiday is not for you, you can go snorkeling and scuba diving. We guarantee that it will be a ton of fun; more so if you come with your family.

3. Niue

Revel in an island like no other in the Pacific. Niue is almost unheard of because it is secluded and very well hidden. But, that doesn’t mean that it isn’t worth the visit. This island is one of our absolute favorites because it has so many different features that normal island beaches just do not offer. We’re talking about a utopia of coral reefs and huge chasms and caves that will cross your path when you go diving or snorkeling. Don’t be surprised if you swim up and find yourself in an unknown abyss; the wondrous chasms and caves in Niue are alluring and riveting to see and spend your afternoons in. If you prefer an activity onshore, these chasms are certainly climbable but beware for they are no easy feat. As the pristine waters are relatively deep, you can expect to spot a spinner dolphin or two extremely close to the shore. You don’t even have to swim that far away just to get a better view! What’s more, if you happen to be free during the months of July to October, Niue is where humpback whales come to play. They are a rare sight to see in the Pacific Islands; Niue is probably one of the rare, unique islands that will give you this special opportunity to relish in these awe-inspiring beasts from afar!
